I am so proud to say that I was a D.A.R.E. America YAB member from 2000-2002. Moreover, I am so greatful that I was a co-recipient of the 2002 D.A.R.E. scholarship. I will never be able to repay D.A.R.E. for all that it has done for me.
I got married to my high school sweetheart, Brent Boatwright in August 2003. We were blessed tremendously in April 2005, with the birth of a healthy baby boy that we named Bo.
I graduated from East Central University (ECU) in May 2005, with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Elementary Education. I am currently working on obtaining my Masters degree in Human Resources Administration here at ECU, and working as a grant coordinator on campus.
I still strive to stay involved with D.A.R.E. as much as possible, and I attend almost all of the local activities that D.A.R.E. puts on in town. I have enjoyed going to our annual D.A.R.E. Day and seeing how much all of the kids love the program. As a student I taught in a sixth grade D.A.R.E. classroom in the Spring 2005 semester, and was fortunate enough to sit in on the once a week D.A.R.E. lessons. I loved being in the classroom and assisting our D.A.R.E. officer.
D.A.R.E. has changed my life for the better, and I know that it will continue to bless kids all across the nation.
