During the graduations I was able to talk to the students about peer pressure that will follow them after they graduate, and the importance of the support of their friends and parents. Also my title allowed me to speak at numerous teenage girl sponsored events called “Girl Talk” where the pressures of today’s society on teenage girls is discussed and how to use the support of their parents, community and friends.
On July 16, 2011 I traveled to the Bahamas to represent the State of Alabama in the 2011 Miss Teen USA Pageant. While I did not win, I walked away with an experience of a life time that allowed me to make new friends from across the United States.
I hope to use this experience to spread the word about the D.A.R.E. program, Girl Talk, and Anti-Bullying in the Schools.
At Dadeville High School I am an active member of the Senior Beta Club, Student Council, and Key Club. I am a current member of the Varsity Softball and Varsity Basketball teams. I have also participated in Varsity Volleyball and Varsity Cheerleading. In the future my goals are to attend Auburn University and then on to pursue a degree in optemitry in the hopes of one day owning my own eye clinic. |
