Connecticut Representative

HI! I’m Francesca Fontanez.  I am the Youth Advisory Board Member from the state of Connecticut!

I am 13 years old and a Freshman at Maloney High School.  I love to be busy! I am a member of the Maloney Marching Band’s Color Guard, I am in the concert choir and the Allegrettos, a Maloney specialty choir.  I have been active with the Kiwanis Hi-lighters for the past 4 years. We are an entertainment troop that performs in nursing homes and senior centers.  I have been involved in the Meriden Youth Theater for the past 9 years…yes! Since Kindergarten!  I have been an active Girl Scout for the past 7 years. 

I am currently taking all accelerated classes as I know that is needed to get into the college that I have my sights set on…NYU.

I was first introduced to the D.A.R.E Program when my older brother took it in 5th grade and then I followed him the following year. I stayed connected to the local D.A.R.E. program through my family’s involvement with the local Rotary Club who sponsors the D.A.R.E. Program.  I believe in the principals of D.A.R.E and I’m committed to working to help continue to spread the word and share the ideals of the  program. I am also excited about meeting the other Youth Advisory Board Members

and look forward to working together.
