Leah Edge

D.A.R.E. America Youth Advisory Board

Indiana Representative

Leah Edge

Hi, my name is Leah Edge! I am currently a junior at Reitz Memorial High School in Evansville, IN. At school I am really involved in the theatre shows and I am an officer in the drama club. I also participate in Snowflake and T.I.D.E. (drug and alcohol prevention/awareness programs), art club, and key club.

Outside of school I am heavily involved in the programs of Youth Resources of Southwestern Indiana. I serve as a co-chair on a committee of the Teens Advisory Council, which is an organization based on community involvement and leadership. I am also on the youth staff for Youth Resources TEENPOWER, which is a youth-led camp based on positive youth development and substance abuse prevention.

I am extremely excited to represent Indiana on the D.A.R.E. America Youth Advisory Board! I passionately believe in living a drug and alcohol free life and it all started with my D.A.R.E education in the fifth grade.

I believe that teaching children at a young age why substance abuse is wrong and how to say “no” is the best approach to prevention. The program also covers bulling and violence, two increasing problems in schools today.

D.A.R.E is such a wonderful program and I cannot wait to get involved!
