For my school activities, I participate in swimming, varsity softball, NHS, DECA, Service Club, and choir. I also am in Project For Teens which is a program that encourages kids to stay drug free. Outside of school I am very busy with working at Coborn’s, Dairy Queen, babysitting, and keeping up on homework.
This is my first year on the Youth Advisory Board and I’m very excited to make my own contributions for helping kids to stay drug free. I became involved in D.A.R.E. when I was in fifth grade in elementary school. I felt strongly about what D.A.R.E. stands for then and I still do now.
My goal when I’m participating on the Board is to be able to help kids focus on their dreams so they do not get distracted by using substances. I believe this is the best way to make sure children and young adults do not participate in drugs or violence. If they focus on themselves, I know they will not give into peer pressure. By serving as a Youth Advocate, I make a difference in others’ lives in my community and hopefully others around the world! |
