Maria Verdugo D.A.R.E. America Youth Advisory Board South Carolina Representative
Our school resource officer, who was also our D.A.R.E. Officer inspired me to make positive decisions regarding the issues we face while growing up. How adolescents deal with the issues they are faced with impacts the rest of their life. The D.A.R.E. program is a gateway to a healthy lifestyle because it teaches youth how to avoid getting involved with dangerous activities. The D.A.R.E. program in my area is well supported by the community. I am looking forward to getting involved with the many fundraising activities that keep this program going strong. I am very excited to be representing the state of South Carolina as a Youth Advisory Board Member.
