Hey everybody! My name is Thomas and I am a Sophomore at Burlington High School.  I am excited to serve my first year as the Vermont Representative on the DARE America Youth Advisory Board. 

I was introduced to DARE in the 5th grade at my elementary school.  DARE helped me lay the groundwork for my future and gave me the tools to make good choices to stay substance free.  I look forward to having the opportunity to have that same impact on young people in my community.  I hope that my work with the Youth Advisory Board will be a positive impact on my peers.

I am involved with different activities at school and at home.  I am on the indoor and outdoor track and field team.  I run the short distance races.  I am a member or the Drama club and enjoy sailing.  I play the Bass guitar and enjoy listening to and playing music with my friends.  My upbringing has had a huge impact on me because it gave me a huge incentive to stay clean in order to reach my potential.

I am extremely happy to have been selected as the Representative from Vermont and am very thankful for the opportunity to meet other Youth Advisory Board members this year. 

I know that the DARE program will continue to have a strong impact on students for many, many years to come, just as it impacted my life and me.
