Hey, I am Rebecca Lamb, a 15-year-old sophomore at Riverside High School in Williamston, N.C.
For the past few years I have been very busy participating as a member of the marching band’s color guard and acting in the local theater group. In school I am a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Key Club, the Science Club, and the Environthon Team.
I am very excited about my new position on the D.A.R.E. Youth Advisory Board. My D.A.R.E. officer has provided a significant amount of support for me over the past six years. D.A.R.E. is a short acronym but a powerful term. The D.A.R.E. program means so much more to me than the useful information it provides. It actually has taught me to “D.A.R.E.” to be whom I choose to be as an individual.
The information and the activities not only have helped me to make wise choices that impact my future and the lives of those around me, but it has increased my confidence and self-esteem. I try to surround myself by people who are positive influences and stay busy with school, clubs, and church activities.
