Wintersville honors D.A.R.E. officer

WINTERSVILLE - Wintersville Police Officer Art Fowler has spent a decade educating area children how to resist drug and violence.

Fowler, the village's D.A.R.E officer, was recognized for his service during a banquet at the Columbus Zoo.

"We want to commend you for your award and recognition," Mayor Bob Gale said during Thursday's council meeting. "Thank you for your longevity and for your assistance in making the local D.A.R.E. program what it is today."
