North Dakota Representative

Hi my name is Sarah, and I am the D.A.R.E. representative from the Peace Garden State of North Dakota. I am a junior in high school and this is my first year as a YAB member.

I keep busy with several school activities such as National Honor Society and the Student Advisory Board. I also enjoy volunteering in my community. On top of all of this, I hold the position of assistant manager at my part-time job, and I babysit on the side just for fun!

I became involved with the D.A.R.E. Program in fifth grade at my elementary school. We made a fun Public Service Announcement concerning the negative effects of marijuana, and I had the privilege of holding the lead role. I was also the D.A.R.E. essay contest winner in my class.

The D.A.R.E. principles I learned in fifth grade parallel how my parents have raised me from day one. I look forward to serving as a D.A.R.E. role model to the young elementary students within my community, and I hope that D.A.R.E. has the same impact on them that it has had on me. It has helped me to make positive choices not only with drugs and alcohol, but with friends too.

I am excited to serve as a YAB member. I am looking forward to continue my involvement with the D.A.R.E. program and to be a positive impact on the youth of North Dakota.
