The DARE Cruise Havana event on June 19th was an overwhelming success with over 6000 custom and collector vehicles in attendance. 

Several sponsors were involved in fund raising for DARE.  Schwans Ice Cream donated all of their sales profits to Colorado DARE, and a local custom painting shop painted a car door as a “door prize” to raise money for DARE. 

Participants who donated were allowed to sign the door which was then raffled off at the end of the event.  Gretchen Mercke of Aurora was the winner of the Door for D.A.R.E.  Gretchen’s Daughter, Hannah, signed the door and is a recent D.A.R.E. graduate.  Hannah was so excited and proud that her mom had won the door!   

The event raised over $2500.00 which will be used to offset the costs of DARE Officer Training.

Weld County D.A.R.E., Inc. serves several Communities throughout Weld County which is the 2nd largest county in the United States. They are involved in Community parades, safety shows, neighborhood block parties, fund raisers and National Night Out events.
