D.A.R.E. ESSAY BY CODY
Taking A Stand

On March 30th we had our graduation for 5th graders in the DARE program. We have a contest for the best essay. The above essay by Cody won. It is the best Essay I ever heard. At the end of him reading this to over 500 adults and students he received a standing ovation.
I thought it would be good to have this student recognized for his bravery to share his story. After the story was read there were many a tear that were shed in the audience.

The Kindergarten class at Hillcrest Elementary learned in D.A.R.E. that it's very important to "tell the truth" the very first time you're asked a question. I read a Berenstain Bear book to them called "The Truth" and they colored a picture of Daren the D.A.R.E. Lion.

CAUGHT BEING NICE - Edwin Rodriguez is a 3rd grader at Plum City Elementary. Edwin has a reputation of being kind and helpful not only to his classmates but to other students at school.
Running to help that little boy that took a hard fall on the playground was the RIGHT THING TO DO. Police Officers not only watch for bad guys....We point out the good guys too.
Way to go Edwin! I'm PROUD of you ! Edwin was rewarded with a DARE T-Shirt. ~ Officer Steve Albarado from Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, Ellsworth, Wisconsin
