Zach Sisk
Greetings from the hot and humid state of Mississippi!
I am 16 and a Junior at Mooreville High School. I have represented my state, county and school by being on the Youth Advisory Board for three years.
The experience has been exciting and rewarding. I became involved with the DARE Program in elementary school where I won the drug-awareness poster and writing contest.
I was nervous to accept the board position at first but now I know staying involved with DARE has been the best decision. I try daily to be a good role model not only for my little brother who wants to follow in my footsteps, but for my classmates too.
We live in a small town where I am very active in varsity sports. Although there are some kids involved in drugs and alcohol, our sheriff does an awesome job of getting the drug awareness message to our community and works hard to help kids make positive decisions. Our town offers great summer camps to keep kids busy.
Going through the DARE Program has affected who I am. I strive to remain drug and alcohol free and encourage my classmates to do the same. "Be who you are, who God wants you to be, not who people want you to be."
