Ohio Representative

Hi, my name is Julie Kessler! I am a sophomore at Springboro High School, and this will be my first year serving as Ohio’s representative on the D.A.R.E. Youth Advisory Board.  At SHS I am on the Cross Country and Track teams, as well as being involved in Muse Machine, SADD, and Student Council. My freshman year I was introduced to Springboro’s Young Life program which has offered me great friendships and fun, rewarding opportunities.

From a very young age, my parents have always encouraged me to make positive choices. When I was in second grade I began the D.A.R.E. program, and over the years it became clear to me what kind of peer pressure and temptations we are warned to resist.

The knowledge I received from D.A.R.E., as well as events in my own life, have helped me to prepare for hard decision making that I will face all throughout high school and beyond.

I am thrilled to have been selected to serve on the Board, and although I am not completely certain what my responsibilities will be, I will do my best to positively influence my community. My hope by being a part of the Youth Advisory Board is that in the coming years I will motivate peers to steer clear of drugs and violence.
