I got involved in D.A.R.E. in sixth grade when I went through the D.A.R.E. program. I had a blast and I’ve been interested in D.A.R.E. ever since. I wanted to help my country become drug and violence free just like my D.A.R.E. officer. Fortunately, I discovered the position of a Youth Advisory Board member.
I know being on the YAB (Youth Advisory Board) will impact my life greatly, but just going through the D.A.R.E. program in sixth grade has too. I carry the knowledge I learned with me everywhere I go and use it with every decision I make. It has helped me to stay drug and violence free through all the pressures of high school and it made it easy! I know I have all of the D.A.R.E. officers on my side and my parents too.
This year will be my first as a YAB member. I hope to make and impact on the D.A.R.E. program and bring some new ideas. I know the next three years will be lots of fun. |
