Water Park of America Sponsors 2010 D.A.R.E. Poster Contest
In a surprise ceremony on June 2, 2010, Deputy Chad Winters and Minnesota D.A.R.E. Executive Director Kathi Ackerman announced the winner of this year's statewide poster contest as Chante' T. from Byron Middle School in Olmsted County, Minnesota. Chante' received a party for 10 and a free night stay donated by the Water Park of America/Radisson in Bloomington, MN. All winners received a D.A.R.E. bag filled with D.A.R.E. items donated by Minnesota D.A.R.E., Inc.
Other Byron poster contest winners included Alex B. (4th Place), Marin S. (7th Place), Justine S. (21st Place). Byron Middle School has a history for having students place in this contest.
The student's families were invited to participate in a school assembly to surprise and honor these winners.
All winning posters will be framed and displayed at statewide events throughout the 2010/2011 school year.
