D.A.R.E. Vendors help Communities in DeKalb County, Alabama

President Barack Obama tours the destruction in Tuscaloosa.

Tornadoes left more than 300 dead in total.

Update from Alabama D.A.R.E. Coordinator

Sgt. Robin Snider

Tuscaloosa is still without internet, phone and power. It's still bad with stealing, missing kids and adults.

D.A.R.E. Officer Anthony Bartley is from hard-hit DeKalb County.  Lt. Bartley has been teaching DARE for 18 years.  His community has been devasted, over 300 homes destroyed, over 40 confirmed dead, and hundreds injured.  In Tuscaloosa, the mayor says the city is living a 'nightmare.'

Lt. Bartley said they currently need clothing more than anything else.  Many fled their homes with what they were wearing and that is now all they own.

D.A.R.E. America notified our vendors and asked if they might be able to assist the communities of DeKalb County.

Without hesitation our vendors responded immediately:

MAC -Mid-Atlantic Clothing Recycling

DARE Catalog/ Creative Product Sourcing

TEE'S PLUS / daregear

Universal Rag

Shipments of household items, luggage bags, t-shirts, jackets, sweatshirts and other clothing items were sent to those in need.

We salute the D.A.R.E. Vendors for the generosity and assistance.
