Jill Lorene Roberts

D.A.R.E. America's D.A.R.E. Dance Director

Jill trained and competed in various forms of dance, including ballet, jazz, modern, and tap for ten years prior to entering Georgetown.

In the 1996-97 season, she performed with CityDance Ensemble (which has become one of the most significant dance outreach organizations in Washington, D.C.) and the New Release Dance Company and choreographed for several local theater groups, including JeRM Production's "Evita," "A Chorus Line," and "A Three Penny Opera," Nomadic Theater's (G.U.) production of "Nunsense", "Something's Afoot," Mask and Bauble's (G.U.) "Chicago," and, this spring, The Arlington Players "Damn Yankees."

During the day, Jill held a full-time position as Director of Dean's Affairs at the Georgetown University School of Business. She left that position in May of 1999 and was hired in September of that same year as a consultant to D.A.R.E. America to direct the D.A.R.E. America Dance Program.

Jill directed the pilot of the dance program in Arlington, Baltimore, Washington, DC, Philadelphia and New York City and is excited that the programs has expanded to now more than 70 schools in 17 cities nationwide.

This effort has brought various forms of dance through local companies to areas in need to help fight drugs and violence. In December of 2000, Jill took on the larger role of Director of D.A.R.E. P.L.U.S. (the umbrella program to D.A.R.E. Dance) and Youth Advisory Board.

In addition to her position at D.A.R.E. America Jill remains the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Joy of Motion in Washington, D.C. , active in the development of "Lombardi Moves" a stretch/movement program for cancer patients at the Lombardi Cancer Center in Washington, D.C. and on faculty at the Tap Academy in Los Angeles, CA.
