Ron Lard has served as a Deputy Director for D.A.R.E. International since April, 1999. Prior to this, he spent 29 years working as a Special Agent of the Drug Enforcement Administration.

His assignments with DEA included serving 12 years outside the United States in various Latin American countries, a four-year assignment as Unit Chief in DEA’s International Training Section at Quantico, Va. and for the last four years he served as Chief of South American Operations.

In this last position, he was responsible for the management of all operational, support and liaison functions performed by DEA employees in 16 offices located in 9 South American countries.

Mr. Lard received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Memphis University and a Master of Education from the University of Virginia. He is a fluent Spanish speaker.
