TRAINING WORKSHOPS:
We are proud to announce the completion of the D.A.R.E. keepin' it REAL (KiR) elementary curriculum. The new D.A.R.E. kiR elementary curriculum continues many of the strengths of previous D.A.R.E. lessons; however, significant improvements have been made to help you be even more effective in encouraging your students to lead safe, responsible, and drug-free lives. There will also be workshops designed to improve communication skills, develop drug awareness, address school safety and violence issue, plus several other D.A.R.E. certification courses. We will also have nationally recognized presenters at general sessions.
Conference registration includes access to all conference activities including: general/plenary sessions and workshops, welcome reception, awards luncheon, and conference banquet
DISCOUNTED CONFERENCE REGISTRATION
Early Registration $485* (Ends July 1st, 2012) On-Site Registration $585*
* Discounted registration requires attendee lodging at Hyatt Regency Atlanta, D.A.R.E.'s designated hotel. A "Passkey" confirmation number must be documented on the Conference Reservation to receive the Discounted Registration for lodging during the conference. The deadline for hotel registration is July 1, 2012, register online here.
NON-DISCOUNTED CONFERENCE REGISTRATION
Registration fees will be $849 (Early) and $949 (On-Site) if a Passkey confirmation number IS NOT included on the Conference Registration Form.
MULTIPLE REGISTRATIONS SAVE MONEY!
When five conference registrations are received from a single agency,
a sixth complimentary conference registration will be provided.

Special One Day (July 26th) Conference Registration Opportunity
Requests have been received from D.A.R.E. officers seeking the opportunity to complete the required training for certification to deliver the New D.A.R.E.keepin' it REAL (kiR) elementary curriculum (EkiR-brief.pdf.) The required kiR training will be offered each day of the 2012 D.A.R.E. International Training Conference. For officers not having the ability to participate in the entire conference, a special one day registration is available. The one day registration will enable registrants to participate in all conference activities Thursday, July 26, 2012 (http://dare.org/officers/documents/TentativeConferenceSchedule.doc).

* Discounted registration requires attendee lodging at Hyatt Regency Atlanta, D.A.R.E.'s designated hotel listed above and a "Passkey" confirmation number documented on the Conference Reservation. D.A.R.E. America has negotiated an exceptional rate for lodging during the conference. The deadline for hotel registration is July 1, 2012. Last year we surpassed our room block and some conference attendees were not able to secure lodging at the conference hotel. The discounted conference registration rate cannot be extended to attendees unable to secure conference lodging if such arrangements for such occur after the hotel registration deadline.

Parking
The Hotel provides valet for $32.00 a day.
We have indentified several parking lots that offer lower rates, currently starting at $7.00 and up per day.

- Suntrust Plaza (Central Parking) on the corner of Courtland Street and Baker Street
- International Garage (Lanier Parking) on Andrew Young International Blvd.
Transportation from Hartsfield International airport:
Go to the transportation booth at the airport and ask for a shuttle to the Hyatt Regency Atlanta downtown. We recommend the Atlanta Airport Shuttle Service (T.A.A.S.S.). 404.941.3440. No reservations are necessary for arranging transportation from the Atlanta Airport to the hotel. It runs 6 a.m. to midnight from the airport and it leaves the hotel every 10 and 40 minutes after the hour. $16.50 one way/$29 round trip per person.

D.A.R.E. Law Enforcement Executive of the Year Award
The Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) Law Enforcement Executive of the Year Award is given to a local Chief of Police, Sheriff or Superintendent of State Police. This award, given annually, recognizes the efforts of a law enforcement executive and his/her department for their continuing support of the D.A.R.E. Program, as well as for working with the community to promote a variety of ongoing drug prevention and education initiatives. The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is sponsoring this award with D.A.R.E. to highlight the importance of law enforcement and prevention working together to make our communities safe and drug-free.
